NBA YoungBoy Never Broke Again has been officially cleared of federal firearm allegations, thanks to a presidential pardon from Donald Trump. On May 28, the 47th President of the United States extended clemency to the rapper, alongside several other individuals, marking a turning point in his legal journey.
Later that evening, YoungBoy took to Instagram Stories to share his appreciation, stating, “I want to thank President Trump for granting me a pardon and giving me the opportunity to keep building – as an individual, a father, and an artist. This means everything to me.”
He further added, “This opens doors to a future I’ve been working tirelessly for, and I am fully ready to step into it.” YoungBoy also acknowledged his legal counsel, Brittany K. Barnett, for her relentless efforts, and paid special tribute to “pardon czar” Alice Marie Johnson, whose advocacy played a crucial role in his release.
In December 2024, YoungBoy admitted guilt to charges related to a drug ring operating out of Utah. Initially facing serious charges such as identity fraud and forgery, his case was ultimately reduced to misdemeanors, allowing him to avoid prison time.
However, just a month later, he received a 23-month sentence along with five years of probation for two federal firearm violations. One incident involved a raid on his Utah residence in April 2024, where authorities discovered a semi-automatic pistol. The other stemmed from his 2020 arrest in Louisiana for firearm possession. According to The Guardian, YoungBoy reached a plea agreement acknowledging he possessed a handgun while filming a music video in Baton Rouge.
Despite these legal hurdles, NBA YoungBoy remains optimistic about his future in 2025. On May 15, he announced his “Make The US Slime Again Tour,” scheduled to kick off in Dallas on September 1. The tour will visit major cities including Los Angeles, St. Louis, Chicago, Detroit, Nashville, and New Orleans, concluding on October 22 in Birmingham, Alabama. Supporting acts such as DeeBaby, EBK Jaaybo, and K3 are set to join him, promising an energetic series of performances.
Having been away from the stage for some time, YoungBoy is expected to bring fresh material and new energy to his performances. Earlier this year, he released the project More Leaks, and last year, fans enjoyed his full-length album I Got a Lot on My Shoulders.
With his legal battles now behind him and a new tour on the horizon, NBA YoungBoy appears poised to continue his upward trajectory. Whether in the recording studio or on stage, he seems determined to forge ahead with purpose, signaling a promising new chapter in his career.
