Over 400 Prominent Figures from the Music and Entertainment Sectors Issue a Powerful Open Letter Condemning Anti-Israel Extremism and Antisemitism

In a decisive move against the surge of hate speech and misinformation targeting Israel and Jewish communities, more than 400 influential leaders from the music and entertainment industries have signed an impactful open letter. This coalition includes executives from major platforms such as YouTube Music, Warner Music Group (WMG), Universal Music Group (UMG), VEVO, Roc Nation, and the Recording Academy. The initiative, spearheaded by the organization Ingenious Workforce for Peace (CCFP), underscores a unified stance against rising antisemitic rhetoric following the Hamas attack on an Israeli music festival on October 7, 2023.

Released on May 28, 2025, the open letter directly confronts the proliferation of extremist narratives and antisemitic provocations, which the signatories argue have been amplified by both ideological extremists and unwitting celebrities alike. The document states: “Since October 7, Hamas, Iran, and their sympathizers within the West have inundated the world with hateful propaganda and antisemitic incitement-lies crafted to vilify Israel, Jewish communities, and their allies.”

Haim Saban, CEO of Saban Capital Group and a prominent advocate for peace, emphasizes the importance of responsible speech: “When influential figures accuse Israel of genocide, call for violent uprisings, or label Jews as colonizers, they may not fully grasp the historical context they invoke-but those who act on these words do. This open letter is a plea for truth, accountability, and responsibility-especially from those wielding significant influence.”

Industry Leaders Stand in Solidarity Against Hate Speech

Major record labels and digital platforms, including YouTube Music, WMG, UMG, VEVO, Roc Nation, and the Recording Academy, have publicly endorsed the open letter. The Recording Academy reaffirmed its dedication to the unifying power of music, condemning violence, hatred, and antisemitism-particularly referencing the tragic massacre at the October 7 music festival in Israel.

UMG’s statement highlighted the importance of fostering tolerance, understanding, and compassion, while WMG reiterated its stance against all forms of discrimination and racism. Both organizations expressed their solidarity with Israel and the global Jewish community, emphasizing the role of music and culture in promoting peace and unity.

David Renzer, Chairman and Co-Founder of CCFP, along with Executive Director Ari Ingel, stressed the responsibility of public figures: “Over the past 600 days, anti-Israel rhetoric has been relentless, spreading distortion, bigotry, and incitement. Social media’s reach makes it imperative for entertainers and influential personalities to use their platforms wisely. Without responsible action, we risk witnessing more hatred, violence, and innocent victims simply because of their Jewish identity.”
