Micah Parsons, the dynamic pass rusher for the Dallas Cowboys, is expected to participate in the team’s upcoming minicamp scheduled for next week. However, his presence at the start of training camp remains uncertain.

On Tuesday evening, Parsons shared a message on social media suggesting he plans to join the Cowboys in Oxnard, California, come July-contingent upon signing a contract extension beforehand. This has been the prevailing expectation, as the four-time Pro Bowler continues to await a new deal that would secure his future with the team.

“I haven’t missed a minicamp in four years!” Parsons wrote. “Even if the contract isn’t finalized yet, I stay engaged with my teammates and the playbook! I’m preparing as if I’ll be on the field during the first week of camp! But ultimately, it’s up to the ownership. I’m focused on winning a Super Bowl!”

He did not explicitly confirm whether he will participate in the minicamp drills, and it appears unlikely that he will engage in on-field work during the sessions.

Throughout the offseason, Parsons has taken part in voluntary workouts but has opted out of organized team activities (OTAs). After returning from Spain on Tuesday, he made his way to the team facility in preparation for photo day, signaling his ongoing commitment to the team.

At 25 years old, Parsons became eligible for an extension following the conclusion of the 2023 season. Currently, he is in the final year of his rookie contract, which includes a team option worth $24 million for the fifth year. Parsons is seeking a new deal, widely expected to surpass the annual average salary of $40.25 million that Ja’Marr Chase received, positioning him to become the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.
