Yolanda Janshen Joins Holy Rosary Medical Center as a Certified Nurse Midwife in Miles City, Montana

Yolanda Janshen has recently become a vital addition to the obstetrics and gynecology team at Holy Rosary Medical Center, part of Intermountain Healthcare, serving the Miles City community in eastern Montana as a licensed nurse midwife.

Expanding Women’s Healthcare Services in Eastern Montana

Since her appointment in 2023, Janshen has been dedicated to providing comprehensive women’s health services, including midwifery care, to women across Miles City and neighboring areas. Her role complements her previous work as a nurse practitioner, where she has been serving patients since 2021, and she is eager to deliver a full spectrum of care from pregnancy and childbirth to menopause and beyond.

Personal Commitment to Community and Women’s Wellness

“I am truly honored to bring specialized women’s health services to Miles City,” Janshen expressed. “As a midwife, I support women through every stage of life-starting from early childhood, through reproductive years, and into later life. It’s about providing holistic, patient-centered care that addresses all aspects of women’s health.”

Educational Journey and Professional Development

Janshen’s career in women’s health began after earning her associate degree in nursing from Miles Community College. She initially gained experience working in labor and delivery at Holy Rosary in 2015. Her pursuit of further education led her to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2016, followed by advanced training to become a Nurse Practitioner. Her passion for midwifery culminated in her earning certification as a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) in late 2024.

Reflections on Her Career Path and Future Goals

Reflecting on her professional journey, Janshen credits her colleagues at Holy Rosary for their unwavering support. “While I knew I was passionate about caring for women, I missed being directly involved in childbirth,” she shared. “Encouraged by my team, I decided to pursue midwifery training, and I am excited to now serve in this expanded role within our healthcare team.”

Collaborative Approach to Midwifery Care

Janshen emphasizes that her midwifery services are delivered within a collaborative, hospital-based model that integrates evidence-based practices with the expertise of the hospital’s medical staff. “Our team of midwives works closely with obstetricians and maternal-fetal medicine specialists to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality,” she explained. “This teamwork guarantees that each patient receives personalized, safe, and effective care throughout their pregnancy and beyond.”

Extending Women’s Health Outreach Beyond Miles City

In addition to her work at Holy Rosary, Janshen provides women’s health assessments and outreach programs to communities in Baker and Forsyth, Montana. Her efforts aim to ensure that women across the region have access to quality healthcare services, regardless of their location.

Community and Leadership Endorsements

“We are thrilled to welcome Yolanda as a midwife,” stated Dr. Jay Littlefield, OB-GYN and Chief Medical Officer at Holy Rosary. “Her dedication to women’s health and her compassionate approach make her an invaluable member of our team. Patients can trust that they are receiving expert, patient-centered care from a highly trained and compassionate professional.”
