Las Vegas, NV – February 29, 2025 – (PR.com) – Histria Books is excited to announce the release of “Hilo Dome,” authored by Jack Bartley. This compelling new novel is published under the Histria YA imprint, a division dedicated to delivering impactful literature for teenagers and young adults.
For Enthusiasts of Dystopian and Post-Apocalyptic Fiction
Set two centuries into the future, “Hilo Dome” explores the resilient community of Hilo, Hawaii-a city that has remarkably endured the devastating aftermath of a global nuclear conflict known as the Gigantic Struggle. This story follows Nathan Ohana, a teenage resident of Hilo, who struggles with social integration at school. Unlike his peers, Nathan perceives the world differently, unable to communicate in conventional ways, yet endowed with a heightened sensory ability akin to extrasensory perception (ESP). This gift, while powerful, becomes a double-edged sword as it reveals a disturbing secret from the authorities-an ominous plan that could threaten the existence of the Ferals, the radiation survivors living outside the protective dome.
A Journey Beyond the Dome
When Nathan inadvertently uncovers a dangerous conspiracy, he finds himself fleeing from Hilo’s police force. His escape leads him into the Wailuku River, plunging him into an alien landscape beyond the safety of the dome. There, he is rescued by Kayli Pahinui, a Feral girl, who takes him to her community in Honoli’i. Initially overwhelmed by this unfamiliar world, Nathan gradually begins to realize that he has found his true place among these resilient survivors. Yet, peace is short-lived, as a new threat emerges from the island’s leeward side-an ominous force capable of destroying both Hilo and Honoli’i. Together, Nathan, Kayli, and her father, Sam, confront formidable dangers as they strive to alert their fellow citizens and forge alliances with those who once shunned them. Their collective effort becomes crucial in preventing an impending catastrophe, emphasizing themes of unity and resilience in the face of adversity.
