Advice from her acupuncturist in the UK

In her last episode released this week, Meghan revealed that she had some advice from her acupuncturist in the UK which has stayed with her until this day.

When talking about the need for women to look after themselves as well as their children, Meghan said: “I remember my acupuncturist in the UK said to me, and it has always stayed with me, he said, if the baby’s crying, treat the mother.

“It all starts with us. Good Lord, we have to take care of ourselves first.”

    Meghan’s blood type

The duchess also revealed what her blood type is on one unusual episode of the podcast.

In episode four, which saw the duchess sit down with businesswoman and friend Kadi Lee, the duchess said that her blood type is A positive.

She then said this could be seen as an example of over-achieving.

The mum-of-two said: “I feel like we haven’t talked about our blood type, but yours is probably an A positive like mine, because I was like ‘Even my blood is over-achieving’.”

How she envisioned life as a royal mum

Meghan did not directly refer to her previous royal experiences on the podcast, however she did mention the way she first envisioned mum life. When Meghan had Prince Archie, she was still a working royal in the UK – quitting less than a year later – and said on episode seven of her podcast series that she thought she would be giving speeches with a baby on her hip.

She said: “I was like ‘Oh gosh, I’m going to give a speech with a baby on my hip’.

“I had a whole vision – and then you fast forward… granted I had a lot of external things happening by the time I had both pregnancies and both babies.

“But it was not the way I envisioned it.”

    She doesn’t cook every day

The duchess also revealed on her podcast that she doesn’t cook every day, which was seen as bizarre for some viewers, especially as she has her own cooking series “With Love, Meghan” on Netflix.

In episode six of her podcast series, the duchess said that she tries to make takeaway food look “flattering” even though she didn’t cook it.

She revealed: “I see vegetables and I see takeout because I don’t have time to cook every day.

“And I go, all right, but how do I still make this flattering and beautiful and present well, and something that people… find appetising?”

Meghan Markle also revealed on one podcast episode that she turned to an Ayurvedic doctor when she was pregnant with both Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The duchess described “adaptogens” such as mushrooms, and how these are active ingredients in certain plants and mushrooms which can impact how the body deals with stress, anxiety and fatigue.

The duchess said: “I think a lot of people when they hear mushrooms, they go ‘OK, she’s talking about being hippie-dippy, grounded in all these things’.

“If you aren’t familiar with adaptogens, you can go to this place of ‘Oh, it’s feeling a little psychedelic and super woo-woo’.”

It has not yet been confirmed whether the duchess’ podcast will be renewed for a second season.
