On May 28, 2025, the city of New Orleans witnessed a momentous occasion as the New Orleans Saints’ defensive end, Cam Jordan, alongside the Cam Jordan Foundation, hosted an inspiring ceremony at the Ochsner Sports Performance Center. This event marked the inaugural presentation of the prestigious Cam Jordan Legacy Scholarship, honoring four outstanding high school graduates from Louisiana. These students were awarded full-tuition scholarships to attend renowned colleges and universities, marking a significant milestone in their academic and leadership pursuits.
Surrounded by family members, community leaders, corporate partners, and most notably, Cam Jordan himself, each recipient received a ceremonial check and a brand-new laptop donated by Microsoft to support their higher education endeavors. The gathering underscored the importance of community engagement, mentorship, and the belief that every young individual deserves the opportunity to succeed and make a positive impact.
Cam Jordan expressed his vision, stating, “This is what leaving a legacy truly means. We’re not just handing out scholarships; we’re walking alongside these students, investing in their futures, and laying the foundation for a better Louisiana that will benefit generations to come.”
The Cam Jordan Legacy Scholarship provides each recipient with an annual award of $12,500 to cover tuition and other college-related expenses. Beyond financial support, scholars will also gain access to a variety of professional development resources, including:
- Mentorship from industry experts in fields such as sports, technology, and entrepreneurship
- Workshops focused on career readiness topics like resume building, financial literacy, and leadership skills
- Internship and job-shadowing opportunities through partner organizations

The program is made possible through collaborations with key partners such as Raising Cane’s, Microsoft, Google’s Pathfinder Beyond Sports, and Entergy. Each partner plays an active role in mentoring and supporting the career development of these young scholars.
The core principles of the Legacy Scholarship Program are built upon three foundational pillars:
- Enhancing access to higher education for underrepresented communities
- Promoting career preparedness and skill development
- Encouraging community leadership and civic engagement
Selection criteria for the scholarship emphasized academic excellence (minimum GPA of 3.0), financial need, and a demonstrated commitment to service and leadership. All four recipients plan to enroll in Louisiana’s public colleges or universities this upcoming fall, continuing their journey of growth and contribution to their communities.
