Bob Sinclar, aka Christophe Le Friant, Secures Global Publishing Deal with Warner Chappell
Legendary French DJ and producer Bob Sinclar has officially entered into a comprehensive worldwide publishing and administration agreement with Warner Chappell Music. The announcement was made earlier today, signaling a new chapter in Sinclar’s prolific career. This partnership encompasses over 350 compositions authored or co-authored by Sinclar, managed and published through Warner Chappell’s global network, including the imprint Mighty Bop Lessons.
Among the catalog covered by this deal is Sinclar’s iconic hit “World Hold On,” released in 2006, which has amassed approximately one billion streams across all platforms, including Spotify alone. The agreement also includes other notable tracks such as “Love Generation,” “The Beat Goes On,” and “Rock This Party (Everybody Dance Now),” among others.
Expressing enthusiasm about the collaboration, Sinclar, now 56, shared, “I’m very excited about this new chapter with Warner Chappell Music. Their team has been incredibly motivated, and I believe we can achieve great things together!” Just last week, Sinclar released a fresh EP through his Yellow Productions label, signaling his ongoing creative momentum.
Warner Chappell France’s Praise for Sinclar’s Cultural Impact
Valentin Zucca, Warner Chappell France’s senior A&R executive, lauded Sinclar as “a true ambassador of French dance music.” He added, “Bob Sinclar is a tastemaker who has consistently crossed borders with his sound. His influence on the dance music scene and his contributions to shaping the genre’s evolution are undeniable.” Zucca, who recently negotiated a deal with Diplo, emphasized Sinclar’s role in broadening the global reach of electronic music.
Matthieu Tessier, MD of Warner Chappell France, expressed pride in the partnership, stating, “Warner Chappell Music is honored to become Sinclar’s publishing partner and to showcase his legendary catalog to audiences worldwide. His work remains a cornerstone of dance music history.”
Strategic Moves in the Dance Music Industry
Sinclar’s signing is part of a broader trend of strategic acquisitions and investments within the dance music industry, which has seen significant consolidation over the past year. Notably, Reservoir Music acquired the UK-based independent label Fresh Sound, along with its extensive catalog, while Effect Recordings took a 50% stake in Enhanced Music, further strengthening their foothold in the electronic music landscape.
Additionally, Global Records, a Romanian label, announced plans last year to position itself as a leading global force in dance music, aiming to leverage its growing catalog and international reach. Meanwhile, Armada Music’s BEAT division continues to expand its portfolio, with recent investments including acquiring rights to tracks by artists like Tiga, reinforcing its commitment to fostering innovative dance music projects.
These moves highlight the ongoing evolution of the dance music industry, driven by strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and a focus on nurturing iconic catalogs that define the genre’s future trajectory.
